The Director of Youth and Young Adult Ministries should be deeply committed to Christ and youth and young adults. The responsibility is to provide spiritual guidance, mentorship, and counseling to youth and young adults by promoting an understanding of Christian vocation in daily life and building an understanding of God's call to all Christians.
The responsibilities of the Director of Youth and Young Adult Ministries include but are not limited to promoting Christian growth spiritually and numerically within the youth and young adults ministries. Work with the Youth Coordinator to plan and carry out functions related to the youth and young adults of the church and community i.e. youth worship services and young adult fellowship. Counsels with youth and recruits and trains helpers as needed.
This person will also implement, promote, and manage all youth and young adult programs of the church. The Director of Youth and Young Adult Ministries will work alongside our Youth Coordinator and with the Director of Christian Education.
This position will manage the E3 boys’ program, lead youth and young adult prayer groups, conduct Bible study classes, and develop programs that exemplify and encourage faith in God. This position will also plan outreach efforts and become a public representative of Mt. Carmel Church.

Duties and Responsibilities:
• Rejuvenate/design a Sunday morning youth worship service.
• Provide Bible Study groups during Turn-up Tuesday and other church events.
• Provide management of the E3 Saturday boys program and prepare young men for confirmation.
• Support the development of youth and young adults by helping them grow in their relationship with God and navigate life’s challenges from a biblical perspective.
• Provide spiritual guidance, mentorship, and counseling to youth and young adults by promoting an understanding of Christian vocation in daily living and building an understanding of God’s call to His people.
• Collaborate with the Youth coordinator in planning church and community-based activities and events for youth and young adults, Director of Christian Education, and Music/Dance Ministries.
• Advocate that youth and young adults are welcomed and expected to be vital participants in the congregation.
• Coordinate ministry with youth and young adults in a varied and wide-ranging program that includes worship, study, fellowship, and service opportunities.
• Collaborate with other church ministries such as children’s ministry, worship teams, and pastoral staff to ensure seamless integration of activities and initiatives within the broader church community.
• Build positive and meaningful relationships with youth, young adults, families, and the wider church community, fostering a sense of belonging, trust, and support.
• Explore the development of new and innovative worship and ministry opportunities as means for attracting youth and young adult populations and initiating/enhancing their spiritual growth.
• Work with the Media team to establish an effective plan to communicate with members of the youth ministry, their parents, and young adults.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Chief of Staff or the Pastor.
Skills, Knowledge, and Qualifications
• The applicant must have a deep understanding and passion for the Bible.
• Apt to learn and develop an understanding of the theological teachings of our Pastor.
• A mature, growing Christian leader with high moral character and standards.
• Strong written, verbal, listening, and interpersonal and intrapersonal communication skills, including the ability to engage and articulate messages that resonate with youth and young adults.
• Excellent organizational and administrative skills.
• History of recruiting and building teams in the development of youth and young adult leaders.
• A collaborator works well with others, staff, members, and the community.
• Ability to be led and the ability to lead.
• Initiative-taking with the ability to manage the creation, planning, and implementation of youth and young adult ministries.
• Strong work ethic.
• Be relatable and approachable to youth, young adults, and to people of all ages with the ability to build trust and establish meaningful connections.
• Basic counseling skills for providing guidance and support to youth and young adults who may be facing personal, spiritual, or relational issues.
• Ability to build a vibrant and innovative ministry that meets the needs of our youth and young adult populations.
• Ability and willingness to provide guidance in a traditional setting with an intergenerational congregation.
