Jennifer Carner

Rev. Dr. Jennifer L. Carner is the Executive Pastor of Membership Care at the Greater Travelers Rest Baptist Church (The House of Hope) in Atlanta, Georgia. Her primary areas of study include homiletics, the history of African American preaching and rhetoric, theology, sacred rhetoric, and the history of Black oratory. For her dissertation, Carner concentrates on a theo-rhetorical history of folk preaching and Black oratory with particular focus in the whooping tradition and African American women rhetors emerging in the mid-eighteenth century through the nineteenth century.
