CTS Honors Bishop T. Garrott Benjamin, Jr. with Inaugural Living Legend Award

 

Milestone years in the life of an institution provide the perfect setting for special recognition. On Tuesday, April 22, President David M. Mellott will present Bishop T. Garrott Benjamin, Jr. with the seminary’s first Living Legend Award for Dedication to Theological Education at the annual Legends of Leadership Breakfast. This honor is given in recognition of Benjamin’s ministry and legacy including the more than 50 students that he guided to Christian Theological Seminary during his time as senior pastor and pastor emeritus at Light of the World Christian Church. On Wednesday, April 23, a public celebration and reception will be held at Light of the World, 4646 N. Michigan Road, Indianapolis from 6 – 8 pm. The CTS Living Legend Award for Dedication to Theological Education recognizes extraordinary individuals whose unwavering commitment and profound impact on Christian Theological Seminary (CTS) have inspired and nurtured the spiritual and academic growth of countless students. It is given in acknowledgment of a legacy that has been sustained over time, shaping the future of Christian ministry and theological education. The award is given only when an individual’s contributions have truly set them apart as a living example of transformative leadership, compassion, and devotion to God’s calling in the lives of others.

Recipients of the award demonstrate an extraordinary commitment to Christian Theological Seminary’s vision to be a catalyst for bringing God’s love, justice, and liberation to the world. The Living Legend Award stands as a testament to the enduring power of faith-filled leadership, inspiring future generations to walk boldly in their divine calling.
