Commencement 2024 Photo Reel

Commencement celebration events have come to pass, but we’re still celebrating our incredible graduates and buzzing from the joy radiating from the Class of 2024 and their families and friends. The festivities began with a private graduate dinner on Thursday, May 16 and Baccalaureate Chapel on Friday, May 17. The special chapel service featured moving music from the CTS Chapel team and special musicians, stirring interpretive dance, the announcement of 2024 Award recipients, and a powerful sermon by Rev. Dr. Joretta Marshall. It concluded with a prayer of blessing and gratitude for our graduates.

Celebrations continued with the Commencement ceremony on Saturday, May 18 in Shelton Auditorium.  Dr. Fernando F. Segovia, a renowned biblical scholar, received an honorary Doctor of Humane Letters and delivered the Commencement address, emphasizing the importance of justice, equity, and the ongoing pursuit of knowledge. Dr. Marshall was honored with an honorary Doctor of Divinity recognizing her extensive contributions to theological education and community advocacy. The ceremony also highlighted the achievements of Rev. Dr. Preston T. Adams, III, who was presented with the Presidential Award of Excellence for his transformative leadership, community service, and impact as a member of the CTS community. The gathering was both a celebration of the new graduates and a testament to the enduring legacy of CTS alumni who have made significant impacts in their communities and professions.
