Officers
Ted Waggoner, Chairman, is an attorney and Managing Partner at Peterson Waggoner & Perkins, LLP, in Rochester, IN. A graduate of Indiana State University (BA) and Indiana University Maurer School of Law (JD), Waggoner was elected to the Indiana State Bar Association General Practice “Hall of Fame” in 2006 and named “Super Lawyer” by Thompson Reuters in 2015. He has served as an Adjunct Professor of Law at IU, in numerous positions in the Indiana State Bar Association, and as a Trustee of Eureka College. Waggoner has also been very involved in local church and denominational leadership, having served as the Vice Moderator of the Indiana Region of the Christian Churches of Indiana (2004-2008) and Vice Moderator of the General Assembly of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in the United States and Canada (2001-2003). Waggoner joined the CTS Board of Trustees in 2015.
Jo Taylor, Vice Chair, is the President of JAT Executive Coaching and Consultation. Taylor earned a BS in Psychology and Communication from Goshen College and an MBA from Indiana University’s Kelley School of Business. Taylor served in numerous positions over her 31 year career at Eli Lilly and Company, including Vice President and Global Ethics and Compliance Officer (2011-2014) and Chief Customer Officer and Vice President of Global Research (2014-2017). Taylor serves on the Development Board of the AMPATH/IU Center for Global Health and on the Strategy Committee at Timmy Global Health, and she has been a member of the CTS Board of Trustees since 2016.
Myra Selby, Secretary, is an attorney and Partner at Ice Miller, LLP, in Indianapolis, IN. Selby is a graduate of Kalamazoo College (BA) and the University of Michigan Law School (JD), and she served as the Director of Health Care Policy for the state of Indiana under governor Evan Bayh. Selby has the distinction of being the first woman and the first African American Associate Justice of the Indiana Supreme Court (1995-1999). There, Selby increased public transparency of the court and authored more than 100 majority opinions. In 2016, President Barack Obama nominated Selby to serve as a United States Circuit Judge of the United States Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit. The recipient of numerous awards including the Madame C.J. Walker Award, Selby has served on the CTS Board of Trustees since 2017.
Dana Sherwood, Treasurer, is the President and CEO of C-Tech Corporation, Inc., in Boggstown, IN, which installs guardrail, fence, and other highway safety devices throughout the state. Dana is a Certified Professional Account who earned a BS in Accounting from Butler University. Dana is a member of First Christian Church in Shelbyville, IN, which she has served as Sunday school teacher and as chair of the congregation’s search committee, budget committee, Christian education, and strategic planning committee. Sherwood has served on several community boards, including the Shelby County United Fund, Shelby Senior Services, and the Indiana Construction Association, and she also sat on the grant making committee of the Blue River Foundation. She has served on the CTS Board of Trustees since 2014.New Members
Rev. Jeff Bower is ordained in the Episcopal Church and, after serving as the Coordinator of Pastoral Services for St. Vincent Hospice and the Vicar at St. John’s Episcopal Church in Speedway, now serves as the Associate Rector for Stewardship and Community Engagement at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Indianapolis. In the Diocese of Indianapolis, he serves as the Chair of Global Missions and as a member of the Waycross Board of Directors. Bower earned an MA in Church Music (1997) and an MDiv (1999) from CTS, and now serves as President of the seminary’s Alumni Board. He also serves as Secretary of Trinity Haven and as a board member of the Coalition for our Immigrant Neighbors. He is completing a DMin in Congregational Development at Bexley Seabury Seminary in Chicago.
Nick Orange is the owner of Family and Community Partners, LLC. FCP is a private community-based mental health care provider located in Indianapolis, IN. Formed in 2012, the partner clinicians of FCP have over 150 years of experience servicing at-risk youth and families throughout Marion County and Central Indiana. Under his leadership, FCP has sponsored a number of CTS events including the annual Spirituality and Psychotherapy Conference. Orange graduated from CTS in 2010 with an MAMFT/MDiv dual degree. As a student, he served as the Student Council president. Most recently, he served as the Vice President of the Alumni Board and as an Alumni Trustee for CTS. He has been recommended and approved by the trusteeship committee to serve as a full trustee.
Dr. John Williams Jr. has held provost and dean positions at Indiana University, the University of North Carolina, and the University of Louisville. He served a nine-year term as the dean of the Indiana University School of Dentistry. A graduate of Transylvania University (1974), he served as interim president of the school from August 2019 until July 2020. Williams has served as the chair for the Commission on Dental Accreditation (CODA) and chair of the CODA Predoctoral Review Committee, which oversees accreditation policy for all DDS/DMD educational programs in the United States. He is a director of the Delta Dental Plans of Kentucky and a board member of the Procter & Gamble Global Advisory Committee. He is internationally known for his work in accreditation, academic program development and assessment.
