Central Indiana couples can invest in the health of their relationship all month long by attending a free Couple’s Check-Up screening offered by the Counseling Center at Christian Theological Seminary (CTS). Free screenings will be offered on a walk-in basis on Monday, February 13 and Tuesday, January 14. Complimentary screenings are also available by appointment throughout February.
The screenings help couples nurture their emotional connection and enhance intimacy by identifying opportunities to improve communication and empathy. Each partner completes a questionnaire that is reviewed by a counseling center resident. The resident then meets with the couple to review insights from their questionnaires and offer suggestions on how partners can enhance their relationship. Each screening takes approximately 50 minutes.
While traditional gifts such as candy and flowers are perennial favorites on Valentine’s Day, mental health practitioners say that that the gift of time and a partner’s interest in strengthening the romantic relationship is invaluable. The Counseling Center at CTS has created a special appointment card for a Couple’s Check-up that partners can present to their significant other. After scheduling an appointment, partners can download the card here, fill in their appointment time and present it to their partner as an investment in their relationship.
Appointments may be scheduled by calling 317.924.5205. Located at 1050 West 42nd St. in Indianapolis, the Counseling Center at CTS values diversity and is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation for Marriage and Family Therapy and by the American Association of Pastoral Counselors (AAPC).
