Stress and Anxiety Support Group

A weekly support group for people experiencing general anxiety, social anxiety, or stressful life circumstances. This group will give you an opportunity to strive with others in a group setting toward personal growth and improved coping skills.

Life in Balance: Skills for Living an Emotionally, Relationally, Physically, and Spiritually Balanced Life

The goal of this group is to remove obstacles that block the process of growth and change by developing and enhancing skills that support emotional, relational, physical and spiritual balance. The size of this group will be 7-8 members. Topics will include: mindfulness/awareness, developing and enhancing interpersonal skills, stabilizing emotional expression, and increasing stress tolerance skills.    

New groups to begin Friday, April 4th from 1:00pm-3:00pm at Second Presbyterian church located at 7700 North Meridian Street.  Group runs for 16 weeks.  New group members are added at 4 week intervals.

Targeting Emotional Balance

Targeting Emotional Balance is a weekly support group for adolescents between the ages of 13 and 17 years old (teens 18 years before June 15, 2014 will not be considered for this group participation).  This group will give adolescents an opportunity to talk with other teens their age in a group setting, and participate in other interactive and experiential activities.  Together we will learn new and healthy way of handling strong emotions and gain new self-awareness of our reactions and challenges to environmental triggers.  Our goal is personal growth and improving coping skills with our family and friends. We will support each other in moving forward and learning new ways of self-control and responding day to day frustrations and stressful situations.
            
Group begins in March 2014, after school on Wednesdays.  Interviews will be held in February.  The cost for the 10-week program will be $100.00 ($10.00 a session) or, $85.00 if paid in advance.

IMAGO Couples Group

Looking to improve communication? Or to feel more connected in your relationship? Imago Therapy is a highly effective form of couples therapy that can help couples strengthening their communication skills and connection with each other.

New group starting March 4th at 6:30 pm - 8:00 pm. The group meets for 10 weeks.

Anger Support Group

Come join a supportive, safe group where together we will learn new and healthy way of handling anger.  Learn what actually happens within us when our anger is triggered. Gain new self-awareness of thoughts which trigger our anger. We will be supported in moving forward and learning new ways of self-control and responding vs. reacting.

New groups forming in April 2014. Interviews will be held in February and the cost will be $35 per person.

NAMI Group

NAMI (the National Alliance on Mental Illness) offers a program in which persons with mental illness and families of persons living with mental illness learn from each others’ experiences, share coping strategies, and offer each other encouragement, understanding, and support.  This group is open to all individuals with mental illness or family members of individuals with mental illness. There is no charge to attend this group. Monday nights from 6-8pm at the CTS Counseling Center.
